We are happy to announce Zarir Cama as an Advisor to Chekk. Zarir joined HSBC Group in 1968 where he held senior executive positions as a Group General Manager across businesses & countries (India, Hong Kong, Saudi, UK, Malaysia…)
Zarir was appointed Chief Executive Officer of HSBC India in 1999 and became a Group General Manager of HSBC Holdings Plc. He was then appointed Deputy Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Malaysia in 2002, where he was awarded the Title of Dato’ by the States of Perak & Penang for his services to the Country, and then came back in 2007 to the Group’s Head-Office in London to set up a new International Division overseeing the Group’s business worldwide and also overall responsibility of the Group’s Retail & Commercial businesses in Continental Europe.
Zarir retired from HSBC Group in 2011 after 43 years of service but continued as a Non-Executive Director of HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited, Saudi British Bank (SABB) and HSBC Private Banking Holdings (Suisse) SA until 2018. He was a Non-Executive Director of Tata Capital, on the Council of the British Malaysian Society & Royal Society for Asian Affairs, and Vice Chairman of Asia House.
